New VAT 25,5%

Maintenance break in the online store 31.8. at 6pm->

The Finnish government has decided to raise the general value added tax rate from 24 percent to 25.5 percent on September 1, 2024.

The change has caused many companies, as well as us, a headache. Our prices displayed on the website include VAT, so we have to update all our prices to reflect the new tax level. Price updates can therefore be expected in the coming weeks. It is foreseeable that some of our customers have looked at the prices in advance, but later when placing an order, the price may be slightly higher. We apologize in advance for these situations and hope for your understanding, as changing the tax rate is quite a challenging project for a company like us operating with limited resources.

The change in the tax rate also causes technical challenges, as MEB uses several electronic software to process orders and invoicing. The goal is that from September 1, 2024 all our systems will work together and from then on all orders, receipts and invoices will have the correct tax rate. The system update will also cause a maintenance break in the online store on Saturday 31 August 2024 from 18:00 to 00:00. If problems are found in the testing, we may have to extend the maintenance outage.
